Gyeongju National Museum

I met a korean English teacher, Shin in the bus to National Museum of Gyeongju. She lives in Daegu but I didn't have the time to visit her cause I had planned my visit to Chunyang the next day to Joy farm.

The admission is free until end of December 2009.

Did you hear the legend of that bell?

"According to legend, when the bell was first cast, it would not ring. So it was melted down again and the monk of the temple for which the bell was being cast was told in a dream that if a baby were to be cast into the metal the bell would ring. The bell was thusly recast, and produced a beautiful sound when struck. Later, the mother missed the baby so much that she went inside the bell, and died when the priest rang it. Therefore cries "emeleh, emeleh" for the child's mother. Many alternative versions of the story are also known."
