If you have the time to discover Jeju Island Ollegil course number 10, do visit Sanbangsan Mountain. You will be mesmerized by the breathtaking view from the top of the mountain, onlooking the beach.
"Sanbangsan Mountain is the result of violent volcanic activity some 700,000 to 800,000 years ago and is in fact a huge body of lava. The cliffs on the southern side of the lava dome are marked with a rich variety of curious formations such as weathering pits and talus scree slopes, some of which are as high as 200m. As its name ‘sanbang’ – literally meaning ‘a cave inside a mountain’ – suggests, this mountain contains a cave, which is located about 150m above sea level and has a spectacular view out over the ocean. Due to its close location to the sea and its high elevation, the peak is often ringed with clouds. The upper slopes of the mountain have their own distinct climatic conditions and are protected for their value for botanical research." - KNTO
Since I stayed in Seogwipo, Hannam dong at that time, we (Alex, June and me) headed to Olympic Stadium bus terminal and transferred for another bus to Sanbangsan Mountain. Please refer to KNTO for detail direction.
Parking space and this is where the public bus stop.
From the bottom of the hill and hike up till that point. Just joking!
There's a paved staircase and you could reach the temple on top
for less than 10 minutes.
The entrance fee is 2,500 won for adult (inclusive of Hamel Ship Museum)
After visiting Sanbangsan mountain and the temple, we walked along

This is another temple at the bottom of the mountain.
It was very windy, the sky was dark and the clouds were swirling
but we were determined to complete Ollegil course 10. The rain
drizzled once we reach the Hamel ship museum down there.
After Hamel Ship Museum..
Then we headed for Songaksan Mountain
My feet was so sore once we reach here.
